I work in night I have a wife and 2 girls
The property is nice and well kept, however it is hard to get any maitence work done when needed. While it is a great deal for the price, crime is starting to pickup and we did not renew
Could not wait for my lease to be over. The outside is nice, but the inside isn't so nice. The appliances are old and not energy efficient. The water is constantly being shut off for some reason. As old as the complex is you'd think the water problem would have been fixed years ago.
My reason for moving:
Dangerous looking people walking around the complex.
Increase in crime. The complex doesn't share this information, but I signed up for MPD's Cyberwatch service. Plus, I see the police a lot as I'm coming and going.
Maintenance patch up work instead of complete overhaul.
Rent based on area instead of what the property has to offer
Tenants not picking up after their dogs. Stepped in feces a couple time while living there.
Tenants walking bully breed dogs with a lease
I probably could have put up with some of the issues mentioned above, but my safety comes first. Toward the end of my stay, I was afraid to go out at night. Heck, I was a little worried when going to work due to the break ins that took place during the daytime hours. I can't live like inner city while paying suburban rent.
Think twice before considering. This complex has many issues that any potential resident should definitely avoid. After years of residency no improvements were made however there were several increases in my lease. The appliances were old and inefficient. On far too many occasions we had to get maintenance over to inspect our refrigerator which kept leaking brown water all over the entire kitchen floor and caused major water damage to the cabinets which led to mildew and foul odors. Although several maintenance tickets were placed, they refused to provide a better refrigerator. The drier did not dry our clothes very well leading to us having to constantly over run the dryer in order to have dry clothes; which contributed to very costly MLG&W monthly bills. They have serious water main issues that they repeatedly have insisted on not addressing adequetly. You will have to deal with your water being shut off on far too many occasions with untimely notifications. The upstairs neighbors hot water tank malfunctioned twice causing water to over flow into our kitchen. Our air/heating unit produced a sour odor which they refused to address after several complainants. We eventually gave up and took matters in our own hands because having guests over to a smelly apartment is very embarrassing. After paying to get someone over to inspect the unit, I was informed that the vents had mold. It costed over $200 to have the vents cleaned and the apartment complex did not reimburse me any of the money spent. The structure used for there upstairs exterior decking are very old and in need of replacement. One of my neighbors got a rusty nail stuck in the bottom of his foot while walking to his front door. Imagine that, this could have been you or your child's foot potentially. The electric circuit breaker box has very small circuits which will lead to your electricity shutting off if you use too many voltages. Not enough space to continue comments.
