Beautiful historic building under new manager. The previous manager Chirs was unreliable and never around. The new one is professional, quick to respond and nice to work with. She really cares for the building, history, and tenants. Very convenient to APSU and downtown.

Property manager Chris is NEVER in the office, ignores calls/texts/emails. Repairs are not done or only very slowly (active water leak took two weeks to repair and only after I called repair service myself). Maintenance is non existent. Everyone moves after their first lease term is up. You're better off renting anywhere else.

Cute place, but luxury apartments they are not. The materials used (i.e. kitchen cabinets) are pretty, but very cheap materials and poorly maintained. The common areas are in a constant state of disrepair, including the pool. Don't get me started on the dumpsters, for some reason residents here don't know how to put trash inside them, but instead pile it around them. Between the ever elusive property manager Christina, who has an office in the building, but is literally never there (she mentioned something about another property in Nashville), to the maintenance guy who doesn't really maintain anything, it is definitely lacking commodities: upon move in, the apartment was filthy (stove greasy, floors stained), despite assurances that it was cleaned prior. That's when I was also informed that apartments don't get painted between tenants and I'm to fill in the nail holes from previous tenants myself. At that time I was assured that any issues (no AC filter, burnt out lightbulbs) would be repaired immediately. 2 months in and I bought my own filter, long after I replaced bulbs myself. Sent the property manager a list of repairs which was mainly ignored, only one issue was addressed, still waiting on getting the rotten outside door frame fixed. So yes, definitely a cute place if you're willing to do your own maintenance, but far from luxury.

Do not move into this apartment building unless you understand that you will not get your security deposit back. Its been nine months. She keeps saying that shell send it. Chris is very incompetent as a manager. Shes only available when you sign in then she disappears. Give us our deposit back!

The apartment itself was great. The apartment manager, Chris, was the problem. When I first moved in, she was in her office every morning. Halfway through my lease, she was in her office less frequently. Suddenly, she was never seen at the apartment and was very hard to reach via call or email. I moved out after my lease ended and I am just now getting my security deposit back, six months later. She became very unreliable and I am glad that I do not have to deal with her anymore.

I have lived here for the past year and I absolutly love everything about this place, from the apartment itself, location, and to the management. Christina is absolutely wonderful. If there is ever an issue, she immediately takes care of it. She is so polite unlike other apartment workers in other areas and is such a hard worker!! I normally dont ever post reviews but I am that blown away by Christinas work ethic and her kindness that I just wanted to share it with the world. If you arent so sure whether you should rent from the penn warren or a different place, I 100% say here!!! I love this place so much and will not be moving anytime soon!
