1400 is a great apartment complex!
I have lived at 1400 Chestnut for half a year now, and I do love it. Inside of the apartment is very nice, quartz countertops (granite in the bathroom), large windows. A huge plus are the ceiling fans in every room - very modern/chic fans and lighting fixtures. Noise isn't usually a problem, but there are occurrences of hearing upstairs neighbors. My windows face the courtyard which makes me feel extremely safe when I'm inside, but late night hours outside can be a little sketchy. Amenities are GREAT. Pelotn in the gym, two grills at the pool, multiple fire pits, a pool table. And most people take care of the community space and treat it with respect. The areas are always clean, too. Overall, I highly recommend this spot, especially if your office is downtown.
Been living here for a few months. Overall I'm a fan, but there are some things they can improve on.
High ceilings (at least on the top floor)
Solid sound proofing. I live on the top floor, so idk if this applies to the floors, but I rarely hear anything through the walls.
Attached park and nearby green area around the stadium
Good amenities. I didn't get to use them much pre-covid, but they seem nice.
EPB internet access
Poor communication from the front office. They didn't tell me that I had been taken off the wait list for a garage spot and just charged me for it. Thankfully, Christian was nice enough to reimburse the two weeks I wasn't parking in the garage. Also, it can be hard to reach someone at time both over the phone and through email.
Expensive garage parking. Garage is $100 per month and outdoor (at the stadium a block away) is $45 per month.
Forced valet trash charge. I can take my own trash out for $25 a month.
No community events. Or at least I was never made aware of any pre-covid. Could be related to the poor communication.
Overall, this is a very nice place to live, and I'm very happy with my choice!
I have lived at 1400 Chestnut for about a year and a half and the location, amenities, and having a park next door for dogs cant be beat!
This apartment is really nice in a lot of ways- well designed and built, good amenities, and generally pretty clean. I don't have problems with noise. There is a lovely park next door and it is a very quick walk for me to work and stores/etc. in downtown Chattanooga. Overall, really enjoy living here and would recommend to others.
