I went into the office at Gateway Apartments and met with Brianna about renting an apartment. What an extremely nice person she is. She answered all my questions, explained their policies and let me know I could contact her regarding any other questions or concerns. One of the other employees was in the office and was kind enough to show me around the grounds, Phil was very helpful and polite. The staff at this complex makes you want to be apart of their community!
This apartment complex sucks, would never tell anyone to rent here! The floors are thin, you WILL hear your neighbors all the time unless youre on the 3rd floor.. And mind you I have left several messages to the office never to have a return call on a couple complaints they do nothing to even bother to call you back!
We lived in the apartments for three VERY long years. We went through a couple property managers and multiple maintenance personnel. To sum up our experience; very poor. Three months after moving into our apartment, my wife's car was stolen out of the apartment parking lot by a guest of a resident (Police report on file). While they run some kind of background check for potential residents, the behavior of the selected went way down hill in those three years. During the Rally, we had some less than savory guests staying in the apartments with no oversight apparent.
Kids who were supposed to be under supervision per community rules, were seemingly left to run amok damaging property such as a knocking blocks off a retaining wall. I witnessed one kid dropping weeks-old puppies from head-height. I yelled at her to stop. When I called the office a seemingly uninterested person said they would go down and 'put an end to that'....ten minutes later after no interaction seen between an employee, I went to the office to complain about the lack of follow though, I found the only two 'working'; employees eating pizza.
My wife transferred to another city before the end of our lease. While we do accept that there was an expected penalty, we received a $2300 penalty for an $900 per month apartment. IF you are in the military or are in ANY job where you have the possibility of a transfer, do not count on fair dealing with the property management company in question. Go somewhere else since there are more and more less expensive options.
