The Charleston island with an indie spirit. Edged by rivers and salt marsh, the James I. life + style is urban but closer to nature - Wappoo Creek and Stono River sunsets, bicycling and boating, sea island farm markets. We are less blockbuster and more indie film. For dinner, we are looking for a good wine or local beer and maybe some roasted Folly River oysters or wood-fired pizza. Easier island living, the outdoors, the kitchen - it all matters. Just one bridge from the peninsula.

I moved into my apartment quite recently and have enjoyed every day since I have been here. The community has been very friendly and open to new guests. The spacious complex allows you to enjoy quiet time in your apartment, but also brings the community together with the common spaces, amenities and events. The leasing office and maintenance staff make your chores and worries the last thing to think about with the daily trash removal and the routine communication. I'm very happy that I moved to Charleston South Carolina for these reasons!
The facility and amenities are excellent. Great to pets. Great spirit of community. Variable pricing is frustrating and difficult to follow.
As a human being, you deserve to spoil yourself. Live here, at The Standard At James Island. Raise your own standards and only accept the best for yourself.
I was brand new to Charleston when I moved into the Standard and I feel like I won the lottery! The management team made my move in so smooth and I have met a ton of neighbors around the pool or in the clubhouse who have introduced me to the 'hood. The location on Maybank highway is ideal... 15 min to work downtown and 15 minutes to the weekends on Folly. Not to mention all of the great restaurants, clubs and the Terrace Theatre down the block. You just can't beat it for apartment living in Charleston!
This is the best place to live if you are new to Charleston! The location is perfect!!
