The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The grounds and apartment are well maintained. When I down-sized, The Colony was the first place I looked because of the resort-like atmosphere. I did not look at any other apartments, I signed up right away. I have renewed my lease and plan to be here for many years.

I agree that if you take care of your employees, they will take care of the customer. This is not the case at your Aiken, SC property. We have been looking at the Colony for several months since we knew we would have to move in May. We originally met with Ashley, who was great. We discussed options and getting approval for our rollback to be on the property since we answer calls 24/7. Ashley spoke with her boss and it was okay and would be written in the lease. I officially applied at the beginning of last week and paid the reservation fee. Ashley called and said we would have to put a half month deposit. I told her that I was confused because we had no evictions, no background, and income was more than sufficient. I let her know that I would speak to my husband and let her know. She said to let her know by the end of the day because she was off the next day and wanted to refund our reservation fee if we were not going to get the apartment. I did call back that day, but, as usual, nobody answered. I wasn't really concerned because we were going to go through with the lease, so I didn't need my money back. Friday I received a voicemail stating that if I didn't let them know by end of business they were canceling everything. I didn't get this until 10:30 pm when I got off work. I called Saturday to be told that everything was cancelled and they were not giving me my money back. I let Cortney know that I work 7 days a week between two jobs and that I hadn't received their voicemail until late and that I could come in Tuesday with everything. Courtney said okay. She then informed me that taxes would not be sufficient income proof(Ashley had told me it was). I showed up Tuesday with all requested documentation. I gave them my bank statements, as misleading as they are. Just because I deposit 12,000 to 15,000 a month doesn't mean that's what I profit. Courtney was rude from the moment I introduced myself and wanted to know, and I quote, what my problem was.

***Warning: Save your Money and DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!! The pictures advertised are from the Leasing Office/Clubhouse, yes both are in the same building. The other apartment pictures are from their show apartment. The actual apartments don't much look anything like the advertised pictures. There are an insane amount of giant roaches running all over the outside of the apartment coming inside of the apartment from the outside day and night. The downstairs neighbors were fighting and kicking their door in every other day and Police were being called often. The man that stayed next door to me shortly, had people running in and out all hours of the night. I believe they accept anybody that can pay here their down payment!!! My apartment blinds were old when I moved in and there was no offer to replace them for free. The living room floor feels uneven underneath the carpet. The year was actually uncomfortable. The rent is too high for the environment. The laundry room sucks! And need to be upgraded, I never used it. The managers lose rent and don't apologize once they've found it, after they misplaced it. Save the headache. Definitely, vet the neighbors and check the ground before even thinking about moving here. It is definitely NOT worth $920 or up!!!
