This place is really a great place to live. New owners as of April 2019 and they have made so many positive changes and they just keep improving! Close to the city, but far enough away to feel like country. I have lived here for many years (almost a decade) and it just keeps getting better! AND they take all cats and dogs (no restriction on dog breed or size)!
Ever since the owners purchased the community (about 6 months ago) the community has been made even better than it was before. They replaced every roof and window in the entire community and completely remodeled the common areas in each building. The remodeled apartments have all new stainless steel appliances included (gas stove/oven microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator plus a stackable washer/dryer in the apartment. ( No more having to lug clothes to get washed each week.) The apartment has gorgeous wood floors through the open floor plan, new bathroom, wall to wall carpet in the bedroom with a huge walk-in closet.
The pool, fitness room, and club house are opening this Spring so I can't wait to see those improvements as well. Resident events make living at Mountain Lake a community life-style which is something many other apartment dwellings lack. I also love being surrounded by the peacefulness of nature and being able to walk around Lake Scranton each day yet I am only a 5 minute drive into downtown Scranton.
Don't recommend. Our apartment was showed to us while supposedly being renovated. When we went to move in, they couldn't find our key and lied to us saying our apartment was already unlocked. Then a maintenance worker suddenly appeared with our key. Upon coming into the apartment it was in worse condition than we were shown. Pieces of drywall missing, disgusting carpets with paint all over, shredded doors, etc. We told the leasing office about these issues only for them to shrug and give rude responses. Now we've been here for a few months. Don't spend your days off trying to relax in the apartments, maintenance workers are extremely loud and incompetent. They also block parking and the middle of the roadway so good luck getting home from work without waiting for them to move. Or they also might block your car in with their vehicles. Also they shut your water off without warning so that's fun too. A huge list of things to avoid!
poor maintenance, don't mainitain any neatness in common lobby while renovating other flats, no sufficient trash bins
Never got intouch with me.
