Rosemont College is one of the several institutions to bring student living to Lower Merion Township, about 10 miles west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rosemont is one of a half-dozen colleges and universities to settle in this area, transforming it into a college town strewn with student housing, academic opportunities and plenty of entertainment venues. Rosemont College has been in this neighborhood sine 1921, when it was founded as a Catholic women's college operated by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus.
