on april 18 2019 i need a place to live because of a mice infested apr. i apply her to jen and she talk to me and ask question about what i was looking for so i told her i show her pictures and this is what she said i will take ur information and befor the end of the day i will let u know if you are approved at 330 she text me and ask if i could come back in to see her by 530 i had the apartment i said that there is a god if she would of said no i would of had to go to the shelter to live so i am very apprective for her.
The person who claimed the fire displacement descriptions were exaggerated has (thankfully) never had to go through the process. I also lived in a unit that was affected, although mine was much less severe. The neighbor most affected (it started in her roof, and she called 911) showed me the damage: several rooms had been completely blocked off for structural reasons and there was a hole in the roof of two rooms, left open to the elements in FEBRUARY. Insurance told us we had 30 days to remove our salvageable belongings and leave everything else to the clean-up crews, whose JOB it was to remove them. So seeing personal items in the apartments has nothing to do with the former tenants and everything to do with the crews. Also, the fire happened President's Day Weekend 2018, plus the state-mandated 30 days for tenants to clean up, so clean-up crews were able to get in at the end of March at the latest. When I swung by on 4th of July weekend, someone else was comfortably moved in. Can you say "Rush Job"?
(I have no idea where the whole 'burned to the ground' thing came from, but let's not minimize the safety problems.)
I love living here, have for 15 years, and since they now have an amazing manager it has become so much better managed. The only update I would suggest is: the bathrooms. They are 60's bathrooms and are in need of some serious update! Maintenance has become much better, everybody is so friendly which means a lot to me as an older person. Rooms are huge, buildings sturdy due to the age (built in the 60's), lots of closet space, even in my 2-BR I have to walk-ins and other larege closets in every room and hallways, except for the living room. And the setting is parklike, across from Wyomissing High school, on side streets, so no major traffic, close to a lot of shopping, entertainment, Wyomissing is a very good community to live in!
Everytime I use the oven my smoke alarm goes off. This is very annoying and was told nothing could be done about it. Do other tenants have this problem? There is also a chip in the corner by the stairs and asked if we could get some paint to repair it. They said they would be over that day. That was over 2 months ago.
I have rented here for a year and a half. The office manager and maintenance staff respond promptly and fix things appropriately. I love living here. It is very peaceful and the apartments are huge.
I have read some of the negative reviews and boy - are they embellished ! The 4 apartments involved in the fire did NOT burn to the ground. And I could see those resident's belongings in the apartments for months before the clean up crew could get in and clean up from the fire. And there is NOT a new property manager every 3 months. The current manager is fantastic and will do whatever needs to be done for the happiness and safety of the residents.There are 2 sides to every story and the negative stories are not completely truthful.
I hope to stay here until I can no longer manage living alone. A great community to spend your retirement - care free and stress free living.
