What Renters Like and Dislike

What Renters Like and Dislike About Quakertown

I like living near a park and having neighbors close by. I also like having some space. That is what I like about my neighborhood

It s only a few minutes away from stores restaurants and other places. A few minutes takes us anywhere we like to go

I like how I can walk for a while to get my mind off things or to clear my mind. The scenery is beautiful during all 4 seasons. Its peaceful and quiet.

More like rural, but not far from shopping and downtown. Also there are some quaint cafe and farm to table restaurants close by

All About

Living in Quakertown, PA

Quakertown, a small town in Pennsylvania, has a population of slightly less than 9,000. Retirees account for a greater percentage of the population (17%) here than nationally (14%), while young adults appear in smaller numbers. Overall, the town's residents, at an average age of just over 40, are younger than most cities in Pennsylvania. Renters tend to be in the minority in the area, and 58% of residents own their homes. With an average rent of $1,015 a month, exceeding the state average by $98/month, relatively high rent costs may be a contributing factor in the higher levels of ownership.

Quakertown has an average commute time of about 28 minutes. Many residents (45%) drive to work, while public transit isn't used extensively. Few residents (2%) commute to work on foot, though the number is greater than the national average.

Compared to the national average, Quakertown has a large concentration of residents over the age of 25 who have earned a high school degree or equivalent (31%). Further, 15% have a Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, or Doctoral degree. Many Quakertown residents work in one of three industries: retail, healthcare, and manufacturing. Combined, these industries account for 25% of the town's labor force. Meanwhile, in terms of job function, many workers in these industries are in sales, making it the top profession in the town. With an average annual income of around $65,000, Quakertown workers earn roughly the same as the average Pennsylvania resident. However, Quakertown compares less favorably to the national average ($73,345).
