I just left from a viewing and the pics look NOTHING like the real thing SO VERY DISAPPOINTED. The cabinets are old outdated and chipped. Looked old and dirty. The stove was small and electric not like these photos AT ALL. There were smallish doors on the livingroom wall and it was explained to me that they were "for maintenance purposes". The leasing office looked like a 5 star hotel lobby whereas the apartments themselves were 2 star at best. Terrible that these are as expensive as they are because they're not worth it.

I would not recommend Chestnut Ridge apartments. I lived there for 2 years. The rent is way too high for how outdated and small the place is. My parents lived in the same exact apartment 30 years ago and it had the same exact appliances and cabinets. There was a water main break right in front of my building and they had to dig up the road to fix it. It took them literally 8 months to re-pave the road which took up 3 whole parking spots in front of my building. On top of that, the parking was already slim and people from other buildings would park in front of my building. No parking system is in place. They also did not keep up with the landscaping and never re-planted grass, bushes etc after the water main break. They would also do the weirdest most unnecessary thing that I have never seen nor understood. They would drain the fire hydrant on a weekly bases and the water would FLOOD the road and my front yard. Lastly, we have witnessed many times the maintenance guys going into residents apartments when they were not there or given permission and without emergency. They would never take off there shoes when they came into your place. Dumpsters are mostly always full. They shut your water off almost monthly for no reason. It also seemed there was almost always something wrong outside that needed fixed which caused unwanted construction noise. Our upstairs neighbors were smokers and threw their butts down in front of our door and the maintenance people blamed us and plastered a big green sign in front of our door saying not to throw your butts without even knowing if it was us or not. I hope this helps you in making a decision to rent there or not.
