I lived here for one year, and I would NOT recommend. Here are just a few of the reasons why: - The circuit in my kitchen would constantly blow out. I could only use one kitchen appliance at a time, and even sometimes when I was only using my microwave, the fuse would still blow out. When I brought this up to maintenance, they lectured me about using too many appliances, when there was clearly a wiring issue. - It was absolutely FREEZING in my apartment the entire winter. Utilities are included, meaning you have no control over your own heat. I would have to wear multiple pairs of pants and multiple shirts/ sweatshirts during the winter in my apartment. - In general, when maintenance would come, they would only half fix things or would not do a good job. - Overall, building management was extremely disorganized. I had to follow up twice after moving out because I didnt receive my security deposit (and ultimately received it over 2 weeks late). Maintenance can only be requested by leaving a piece of paper at the front desk, which in my experience was lost half the time. - Although it is a doorman building, the doorman would send up guests to my apartment without ever calling me to confirm I was expecting guest. This made me feel like the building wasnt very safe, as anyone could walk in and say Im visiting apartment XX and be let in. - The washing machines were constantly broken. - There was constant construction surrounding the building which was extremely loud. - I felt that some members of management were extremely rude, especially Mike. I had a particularly bad experience with him before I moved in the building, as I hired two different moving companies that both canceled on me, and subsequently I had to change my move in date twice. Mike screamed at me on the phone and threatened to not allow me to move in, even though the circumstances were genuinely beyond my control and I had already paid first months rent, last months rent, and security deposit.

The Chatham is an amazing classic high rise right around the corner from Rittenhouse Square. The location is perfect. I love my studio apartment, there arent very many like mine and I was so excited to get it!! Linda Toppi, who is the location rental manager, has been amazing since the day I met her in August 2019 to look at apartments at The Chatham and in Fitler Square. She worked fast with me to get this beautiful studio. So happy I chose The Chatham!! On the very few occasions I have had to contact her she has always responded fast! The maintenance crew lead by Mike are amazing ! They get things done fast and efficient. The doormen are the nicest and are always there. No place in Philadelphia I would want to live.!
