Do NOT rent here! They make it sound all nice and dandy when you come into the leasing office, but once they are done with you the service is horrible. No one at the front desk is of much help. I would try to pick up packages and they wouldn't give them to me or would lose them in the back closet. When we filed a maintenance request it would take a long time for them to show up or wouldn't help with the original issue. They say you have to make a reservation for using the grill(s) but people would just go out there anyway and would use them, so if they were all being used you were just told "sorry" by the front desk. The property is a complete mess with trash everywhere. Everyone in the management office were not on the same page and would take FOREVER and many phone calls to get an issue resolved. I was overpaying for living here and couldn't wait to move out the second my lease was up. Save your money and move somewhere else that is now owned by Post Brothers!
I'll be the first to say that a lot of the reviews on here are dramatic but overall they aren't too too far off. Here are some pros and cons for Rittenhouse Hill:
- Overall friendly staff. Besides a few grumpy impersonal people, the staff are overall very nice to work with
-Pets. As a pitbull owner, the number one reason we chose to live her to begin with was that they do not have breed restrictions. They also have a dog park that is great for exercising our dog and a day care if that is what you prefer to do with your pet during the day.
-Location. This is kinda a double edge sword. On one hand, you are close to 2 train stations and ubers to the city from the apartment are very fairly priced. On the other hand it is in a unique area where there are some beautiful blocks of houses and others you don't want to be.
-Pool. The pool is great and well maintained. As someone that works 60 hour weeks, I have only used it a handful of times since I moved but it is great. The grills and the fire pits are great too.
-EVERYTHING is cheaply made. When we moved in it became clear very quickly that the apartment cuts a lot of corners with the quality of their units. Lights burn out quick, appliances don't work well, VERY poor insulation, walls scratch super easily and can't be fixed because cleaning it will only rub in the scuff marks more.
-Parking is a challenge. I work until about 10:30 each night and need to lap the property at least 3 times before I find a spot to park. Don't let leasing agents make you believe that they enforce parking well at this site at all.
-EVERYTHING is broken. There is always an issue with the gym, the gate, the elevators, etc. Nothing seems to ever be working.
-The grounds are very poorly maintained. If you walk on the lawn you either feel you are walking through the jungle cause the grass is cut once every 2 months or you are walking through a mine field because nobody picks up their dog's poop.
-Walls are PAPER THIN.
I lived here from from Oct 2016-2017. This apartment complex is absolutely amazing in every way. Everyone that works here is extremely kind and always happy to help with whatever you need. The Amenities and the grounds are the best, especially the pool and jacuzzi. I made a huge mistake moving out of here into Alden Park which by the way is a nightmare!!! Stay away. My lease is up in 3 months and I'm looking to move back into these beautiful apartments. I can't wait! These are a little pricy however I never had a problem the entire time living here and trust me after my experience at Alden I wish I would have paid the extra $$ to stay in Ritt Hill. Can you really put a price on happiness? Definitely rent here, you will love it!
