Gwynedd Mercy College, PA

Gwynedd Mercy College has been educating student in southeastern Pennsylvania for more than 60 years, and continues to attract attention to student living through well reputed graduate programs, a renowned college choir, and a comfortable lifestyle in the small town of Lower Gwynedd. The school began as a junior college in 1948, became a baccalaureate institution in 1963, and today enrolls about 2,700 undergrads and postgraduates. Student housing at Gwynedd Mercy College allows students to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the local suburbs and the easy access to downtown Philadelphia, which lies just 25 miles away.

Gwynnedd Mercy espouses the ideals of a liberal arts education, offering baccalaureate and associates degrees in more than 50 academic programs. In addition, those with student housing may pursue a pre-professional or teacher certification programs, or seven other curricula that culminate with a certificate. Graduate students earn a Masters of Science degree in either Education or Nursing. Recently, the U.S. News & World Report ranked Gwynedd-Mercy College 75th among the top master's level institutions in the North.

Aside from academics, the college has made a name for itself with The Voices of Wwynedd, a 100-member choir of students, faculty, staff and alumni. In addition to emerging as a cultural presence in the tri-state area, the choir has recently extended its tour to major U.S. cities and to Europe.
