It's main campus located at the site of the former Philadelphia Mint, the Community College of Philadelphia has cemented its place as a landmark and anchor of the community of the past few decades. Established in 1965, CCP has blossomed into the largest institution of higher education in Philadelphia, and brought student living to four separate Community College of Philadelphia campuses. With locations scattered throughout the city, the school makes it easy for students to find a college apartment in one of several neighborhoods that meets their lifestyle needs and standards of comfort.
Today, more than 38,000 students annually enroll at the Community College of Philadelphia. Those in student housing are typically on track to earn an associate degree or certificate in one of more than 70 programs that span the arts, business, health care, science and technology, humanities, social sciences and human services. In addition, CCP extends dual admissions programs and transfer agreements, which allow students to transfer to a four-year college or university after two years of student living at the Community College of Philadelphia.
Off campus housing is available near each of CCP's four campuses. These include locations in Center City, the West Oak Lane neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia, the Morrell Park area in the Far Northeast, and the Walnut Hill neighborhood of West Philadelphia. A college apartment places students between the riches of the city and the more intimate community of the college.
