I have been living here almost 5 years. Our lease is up April 1 and we are deciding whether to move or not. The Pros:
Best maintenance staff out of any complex I have ever lived. The neighborhood is really quiet, even though there a lot of kids. I am on an end unit so I share walls with two neighbors instead of 3, both of which happen to be single men so I dont get any noise. I like my townhome, I live in an Ambler which is a 1 bed and 1.5 bath with a den. The den is a nice size, big enough to be a bedroom. I do enjoy living here.
The con: the rent hike every year is insane. They raise it $50 or more every year. And they never give you a break on this, even if you are a good tenant. Every year I call and write letters and fill out surveys every year to complain about this and it doesnt matter. They always say "It is comparable to other properties in the area" I dont care about other properties! I am a great tenant I should be rewarded at least once in a while with a small rent increase! They always say corporate makes the decision on the increases then when I ask to speak to corporate, they say I am not allowed. There is a constant turn over of staff in the rental office as well, no one seems to stay longer than a few months, however the maintenance always seem to be the same guys, I dont know what is up with that.
Anyway every year my husband wants to move because of the rent increases and even though i dont like the big rent increases, I dont want to move either. But this year most likely we are moving as now our rent is over $1500 and it is getting hard to justify paying that. I live in 1911 if anyone at the office sees this and if they can give us a deal on our rent hike. We have until Feb 1 to decide if we are moving or not
