What Renters Like and Dislike

What Renters Like and Dislike About Sherwood

What I like most about my neighborhood is that I feel it is safe for my family. It is nice and quiet and I enjoy the people.

I enjoy the nice trails to go for walks. Despite the negativity online, people are friendly and welcoming and always willing to help.

It can be pretty quite and good to do stuff you want and not have to worry about it at all. People are nice.

We have a friendly community where everyone knows of everyone. They are super supportive if you're in the right circle, and of course people are willing to lend a hand in opportunities and other things. We have this one bakery that's helping in the COVID experience-- they're giving food to families who need help. It's a small place, so normally we go outside of where I live

All About

Living in Sherwood, OR

Apartment residents in Sherwood live amongst the serene natural beauty and intriguing landscape of the Portland region, and they can celebrate those features through a number of local events and attractions.

Possibly Sherwood's most renowned feature is the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, one of just a handful of urban wildlife refuges in the entire country. Sherwood apartment residents had a hand in the refuge's creation - their desire to preserve area wetlands and create recreational and educational opportunities for future generations helped lead to its development in 1993. Since 2006, the refuge has been open to the public, giving Sherwood apartment residents the chance to reap the benefits of their hard work and enjoy the land that they had fought hard to preserve.

Today, local apartment residents visiting the refuge can bear witness to the land's rich and varied wildlife, including almost 200 species of birds, more than 50 species of mammals and a wide variety of reptiles, amphibians, insects, fish and plants. The refuge's fantastic visitor's center - known as Natures Overlook - provides access to educational materials and guides on the habitats located at the refuge, the efforts to keep it preserved land and tools that can help Sherwood apartment residents learn more about area wildlife.

The refuge is a popular destination for local apartment residents, though if they simply want a green space in order to get outside and stay active, there is no shortage of other parks and recreational areas in Sherwood to satisfy those needs.
