Reed College, OR

Reed college is a private liberal arts college located in the city of Portland, Oregon. In addition to its rich academics and virtually endless social opportunities, the school's campus boasts beautiful architecture and a forested canyon wilderness preserve at its center. If you're a student living in the area who's interested in continuing his education, you may find exactly what you're looking for at Reed College. There's definitely enough here to keep you busy in the years that you attend the school.

Reed is particularly noteworthy its mandatory freshman humanities courses, as well as a student-run nuclear reactor which supports the science programs. A relatively large percentage of undergraduates from the school move on to earn PhDs or other post-graduate degrees.

One beloved part of life at Reed College is the annual Renn Fayre - a three-day festival which originally began as an actual Renaissance fair in the 1960s. However, it has since evolved to incorporate a new theme every year. It typically takes place at the end of the spring semseter and is an excellent opportunity for students to relax for a few days and enjoy themselves before finals season begins.

If you'd prefer to live in an off campus apartment over university housing, you'll be pleased to know that the city of Portland is filled with great things to do. The city is especially well known for its lively food scene - there are plenty of delicious restaurants, many of which pride themselves on the use of fresh, local ingredients. If you consider yourself a bit of a foodie, you may be quite pleased with what Portland has to offer.
