Located in the city of Lawton, Oklahoma, is Cameron University, a four-year state-funded university that offers any student living in the area a wide variety of programs and degrees to choose from. The school originally began as an agricultural university in 1909. Over time, however, it continued to expand in scope and mission, eventually becoming what it is today. Students can now choose from more than 50 different degree programs, many available in either two- or four-year course schedules. Currently, Cameron University boasts a student population of about 6,000, comprised of roughly 5,200 undergraduates and 800 postgraduates.
Intercollegiate sports are another important aspect of life at Cameron University. Students may participate in activities like golf, cross country track, basketball and baseball. The school competes in the Lone Star Conference of the NCAA's Division II. Cameron University has a couple of championships under its belt, taking home the NAIA Division I National Football Championship in 1987. However, football has since been discontinued at the school, though its stadium regularly hosts high school games.

With a population of nearly 100,000, it's the fifth-largest city in the state of Oklahoma.
