Very disappointed in this apartment. It is beautiful, but nothing is put together well. We've had to call maintenance for a myriad of issues. The circuit always blows when we use our Keurig. We were told to move to another outlet, which did not work. It still happens 1-3 times during brewing. My daughters room does not get adequate heat or air. We've had to add a space heater, which increases the electric bill. Maintenance will alternate between telling us that nothing is wrong and they've seen this with several units. Management suggested we close vents in other rooms to redirect heat to her room (which didn't work) or move her to a different bedroom. When paying $1800+ for a 3 bedroom, it seems ridiculous to be told we should only use two of them because they can't figure out how to give us working heat in all rooms. I just feel like we're getting the run around at this point. Parking is terrible. They put in new guidelines, but I really don't seem any enforcement. There is a clear lack of spaces near our building and not all of the units in the building are rented out. I try not to leave my house after 8pm because my space will be gone when I return. Very disappointed in a place that I thought was a good choice. I can't wait until our lease is up.
Beautiful! The grounds are well kept and clean. My apartment is well lit. There is even a light in the bedroom. All the staff members are friendly and helpful. Located close to the interstate but far enough away so there is no traffic noise. My neighbors are friendly and quiet. I recommend Springs at West Chester
As I sit here typing this review, I can smell cigarette smoke in my dining room.
We moved to this complex September 2017. Brenna is the BEST! The maintenance staff is awesome! There are some material quality and finishing issues (i.e. thin walls and insulation) with the apartment but overall, we liked living here.
We liked living here until these last 3 months. The promotion of a smoke-free building was the selling point as I have asthma and allergies that are inflamed by cigarette smoke. Both of my children, ages 2 and 7 months have lung sensitivities due to reactive airway issues due to being preemies. In December 2017 we noticed a cigarette smell that would come and go. We spoke to management office and the matter was handled quickly. The tenant was no longer seen smoking and the smell went away.
March 2018 we reported that cigarette smoke was back and showed them photos of cigarette butts outside our garage and the surrounding garages. The cigarette smell has only gotten worse. We live in the 2 bedroom Grand Courtyard with garage. The guest bathroom has been unuseable for the last 3 months. I tried everything to get the smell out. I kept the exhaust fan running for days on end. I tried multiple bowls of baking soda and charcoal placed in cabinets and on the countertop. I tried cleaning the entire bathroom down with vinegar and later bleach and still no resolve. The issue is that the neighbors were smoking and continue to do so after being told this is a non-smoking building. We had the maintenance crew come and bomb our bathroom with a fire and smoke damage fogger. That got the smell out for a couple of days but it is now back along with the smell of the bomb. We have complained to management and were told they found no physical evidence of smoking so they are not able to do anything due to Fair Housing Laws. So we have been paying for a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment but only have one useable bathroom.
How hard is it to enforce a policy?
This place is new but slapped together in a hurry. Very cheaply made. Everything falls apart and breaks and then maintenance wants to blame you for it. Management is rude and the trash service acts like their disposing of nuclear waste. You can not opt out of the trash service. Rent is not a set amount. It changes month to month. They constantly bug you to pay rent online but if you pay online it has a $30 fee so I pay with a check in person. The pond they have is a stagnant pool perfect for breeding mosquitoes. Our washer broke after two months living there and it took maintainence a month to fix it and a constant hassle from them telling me I was wrong about it being broke. The gates are constantly broken and are poorly designed according to the sites layout. Parking is a disaster. The dog park is a small enclosed space and no benches for owners to sit. Its just a small fenced in piece of grass. The car wash is a deinty, self served, barely large enough to fit a compact car. They also enforce a poo prints deal where before you move in you have to provide all past medical records for your pet along with a stool sample. If they find dog doo anywhere they will be able to pin it on the dog and the owner. However my neighbors never pick up after their dogs, and nothings been done. This place is far from worth the money. You can find a better bang for your buck elsewhere.
