Founded in 1888, Tiffin University has spent more than 120 years carving and refining its niche in the Tiffin, Ohio, community and beyond. Today student living at Tiffin University isn't limited to the town, the state or even the country. In fact, the university has off-site locations and student living in Columbus, Cleveland, Toledo, Fremont and Lima in Ohio, as well as at the University of Bucharest in Romania. It's far-reaching influence and expansive course offerings continue to attract students to the area. Each year, the school enrolls nearly 5,000 students, many of whom rent a university apartment to get a better taste of the Tiffin community.
Supporting a full range of academic areas, Tiffin University has developed partnerships and new colleges to meet the educational needs of all of those in student housing. The School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and School of Criminal Justice and Social Science cover most of the traditional liberal arts majors. In addition, students at Tiffin University may enroll in a teacher education program in partnership with Lourdes College, and a paraprofessional education program in association with Heidelberg College.
Though Tiffin University has an international reach, many students stay in northern Ohio, and engage their community by renting an off campus apartment. Much of the off campus housing hugs the banks of the Sandusky River, where it snakes past East Perry and East Market Streets. In this area of town, students can find the Ritz Theater for music and comedy, as well as local eateries like Reino's Pizza and Pasta.
