BEWARE! Do not move here!! I just moved out of The Westbury after living there for a year. It was THE WORST experience I have ever had. Firstly, the building is under MAJOR reconstruction. During the Spring/Summer months, a construction company is there Mon-Fri from about 8am-5pm doing renovations to the outside of the building. It is THE MOST loud, obnoxious noise you will ever hear. I couldnt even hear myself think. Maintenance is terrible. I would put in a work order via the ladies in the leasing office (who are rude) first thing in the morning, and I would be lucky to see maintenance by late afternoon. My toilet broke a total of about 10 times during my 1 year stay, even though they said they fixed it every time they came. The apartment itself was absolutely disgusting. My bathroom floor was stained and dingy, and my tub was yellow. There were several occasions that dirty black/brown water backflowed into my tub. Speaking of water, they turned the water off in the building on numerous occasions for repair as the email notice stated, for 8 hours at a time. What are we supposed to do without water for 8 hours? The building is not well kept and smells awful in the hallways. The other tenants on my floor were incredibly loud and obnoxious. You are unable to control the heat in your unit, as it is controlled by boilers in the basement, making it very difficult to have a comfortable temperature in your unit during the cold months. Their solution is to cover the air conditioner wall unit with a cover (which they told us to buy with our own money), so that the outside cold air does not enter into your apartment. After I moved, I received my security deposit back, with a $50 deduction for a charge for a carpet clean, even though the carpet was in the exact same condition as when I moved in. Arent they supposed to clean the carpet between tenants anyway? Why are they charging the former residents for a routine carpet clean? WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!
