Newburgh Heights is a village in Cuyahoga County located a short distance south of Cleveland. Founded just over a century ago, the village has been home to successive waves of immigrants who once worked in local factories.
The village was incorporated in 1904 and occupies part of the former township of Newburgh, which saw much of its land annexed by surrounding towns at different times in the 1800s. In its industrial heyday, the city's population was almost nearly double what it is today.
According to the village's website, Newburgh Township narrowly missed becoming the county seat in the 1900s, with Cleveland winning that distinction.
According to the official Newburgh Heights website, the population was 2,389 in 2000, with 387 apartment renters occupying the city's residential units. Newburgh Heights Apartment renters should have little trouble getting to know their neighbors as the village's entire land area consists of about a half a square mile.
Golf enthusiasts may be particularly attracted to a Newburgh Heights apartment with the Washington Golf Learning Center located right in town. The facility features a nine-hole golf course and classes that focus on various aspects of running a course, such as landscape management.
People living in Newburgh Heights apartments will also find that the town is a convenient drive from Cleveland's airport and is just to the north of the Ohio and Erie Canal Reservation and south of the Industrial Valley area. The area also offers nearby country clubs, golf courses and outdoor recreation areas.
