Dating back to 1892, Malone University - then known as Cleveland Bible College - has had a presence in northern Ohio. With a foundation in Christianity and Quakerism, the school set off to train area students for inner-city ministry. Today, student living has taken on a different timbre, as students from a variety of religious backgrounds and 16 countries around the world live in student housing. Enrollment at Malone University has reached about 2,600 undergraduate and graduate students, many of whom live in a university apartment as a way to engage the community of Canton, Ohio, where the school now sits.
Since its early history, Malone University has become a traditional university, offering a wide variety of bachelors degree programs, professional degree programs and a growing graduate school. The school changed its name in 2008, and has been attracting many young scholars to student housing with its new image and intellectual approach. For much of the past decade, the U.S. News and World Report has ranked the school among their top colleges and universities in the Midwest.
In addition to the educational opportunities at Malone University, off campus housing opens up a host of resources for both graduate and undergraduate students. Student living is made convenient by the proximity of several local hubs, including Harvard Park for exercise and relaxation, or Hog Heaven for a bite to eat.
