All about

Franklin University, OH

As one of Ohio’s foremost educators of working adults, Franklin University pairs intensive academic instruction with student living options that accommodate most schedules. The institution has a track record of success in such nontraditional arrangements, dating back to its founding in 1902 as the YMCA School of Commerce. The success of educational approaches at Franklin University led the U.S. Army to choose the institution among 29 schools to participate in the administration of distance learning to soldiers. Students who are able to attend classes on-campus may choose a university apartment near any of Franklin’s five Midwest locations throughout Ohio and Indiana.

Franklin University is the third-largest private university in Ohio, and it continues to mature and expand. Student living at the school reflects a dedication to Franklin’s nearly 8,000 graduate and undergraduate students, both in terms of education and the student lifestyle. In 2009, the university opened its first location outside of Ohio, in Indianapolis, and also started offering an MBA at the Wroclaw School of Banking in Poland. Those students who are juggling work and study can benefit from a convenient university apartment, as well as Franklin University’s Coaching Program, which pairs students with a professional mentor in their field as they work toward an associate's, bachelor's or master’s degree.

Off campus housing at Franklin University’s main campus allows students to benefit from the resources of downtown Columbus, Ohio. The Columbus Metropolitan Library sits around the corner from many university apartments, and local landmarks like Stingray Studios, Oodle Noodles Dumpling Bar and Dirty Frank’s Hot Dog Palace are well within reach.
