Since the new owners took over it's been a nightmare! Beware!!
Staff gives gift card to people who leave good reviews. This place is horrible. It has been nothing but issues. When i was shown an apartment, I was shown a new, updated, CLEAN apartment and was sadly disappointed when I moved into my unit. Firstly, the management said that a portion of the pet deposit is non refundable, because they replace the carpets after someone with a pet moves out. Okay. However, when I moved into my apartment, there were beer bottles in the CARPETED closet, and a flea infestation brewing in the carpets (Which gave my cats fleas, which I spent money to treat.) They did have an exterminator come spray the carpets for fleas. Clearly, my carpets werent replaced. Which, I could have told you just merely by the condition of them. Then, my downstairs half bath toilet starts backing up and overflowing. It takes them almost two weeks to get out to even look at it. Neighbors flushing sanitary products, nothing was said to them. Next, I found mouse droppings and live mice coming from behind my stove. It was an infestation, I could hear them scurrying in the walls. They called an exterminator, who just put some bait out. Which, I already had done by the time they came out. The AC unit it riddled with what I assume is either mold or mildew, it smells terribly. There are ALWAYS bugs. The apartment is just overall nasty. Our dryer has broken twice, the first time we waited almost 3 weeks, this time we have waited almost a whole month. Ive had to spend money at the laundromat. They wanted to raise my rent and also have me pay new fees (that include pest control, are you effing kidding me? Ive had pests since Ive moved in!) Due to these circumstances, I am counting down the days until I move out!! Any time I bring any issues to managements attention, I am ignored, or assured it will be taken care of promptly, and then ignored. So long Centerville Parks, you definitely wont be missed!
I wished I would have paid more attention to the newer google reviews. Because all of it is true. The staff is highly unprofessional, not mentioning needing ESA paperwork to waive the pet fee until after I paid them. But my biggest issue is the maintence and the condition of the unit. I was shown a good unit and when I go to apply it is magically already leased out. The unit I received had a massive leak day 1. The tub was fully leaking into the drywall and out through the outer wall, the brick was eroded and had calcium deposits and the cabinets were completely rotted out. The apartment has an odor at times that smells like dog urine and it is evident by the heavy scratching in the door frame of the downstairs bathroom, and most of the sinks are warping underneath. There are heavy chipping in the bath tub and one maintence person says they can fix but the next says they can not.
The apartment owners must not fully inspect their units at all, due to the water damage that was present, it also did not appear to be cleaned. The leak I mentioned prior took them 2 days to have someone come out, and it wasn't until I called that someone came out with an hour. They proceeded to fix the leak and said it was caused by a little hole but you could see where the guy was holding it that pipe was rusted out. They then put the old wet installation into the building and said someone would come out to look at the cabinets. It wasn't until almost a month late after constant calling and no solid or roundabout answers that someone came out to look at the unit but only after I sent a long winded email and now it will be fixed next week. This is a common occurance.
I also developed a leak in my upstairs closet that they say doesn't exist even though I sent pictures of a crack in the ceiling and water marks along the wall. Beware of this place and don't take their overall reviews as a positive experience of this complex.
terrible terrible terrible
Do not rent from this complex! New management is god awful, tacky, lacks professionalism, and lack customer service skills. The apartments themselves are nice but other than that, that's all folks. Since the new management, most current residents are talking about not Resigning another lease. The new management is so petty they wanted to charge a resident a 75$ late fee for having a 25 cent balance from rent. As for me, I was unaware they made a management change and made rent out to the old company this month. They put it back in my mailbox days later with an eviction notice saying "due to none payment" then wanted to charge me a 75$ late fee for it when I turned it in on time. Not my fault they waited til days later when I was not informed. I spoke with tabitha on the phone and she was super rude. Once I thought it was getting straightened out, I got a call on the way to drop off a new cashier check to the complex from another employee saying they hadn't received my rent check for the month. So obviously communication between staff doesn't happen. I have lived here for going on 4 years and haven't had these kind of problems until now. Renters beware!
