Village West

For the past 2 1/2 years Village West has been an excellent place to live and is such great value for the price! Not to mention the location is ideal - a short walk to just about everything on high street. Wouldn't change a thing!

It's a great location, reasonably priced, the pool area is great, staff is great, etc.. I've lived in other complexes on Thurber and this one has been the best in every way so far.

I Have been here almost 3 years, enjoy the place. Shawn has been wonderful and professional. Has been updating various units and complex which we enjoy seeing. Nice location, God neighborhood, amenities are good also. Staff has been wonderful.

Great storage space and great amenities for a great price.

The manager was more of a bad RA than an actual manager. We had pool monitors, requests for residents to turn their neighbors in, wrist bands, & badges as attempts at pool security but she never followed through on a single one. She would instill arbitrary policies at random and acted as though we should have known all along. All the while she never carried out functions that actually mattered - keeping common areas clean, the gym area sanitary, or enforcing parking passes. One time she neglected to inform residents of work taking place on our patios. This resulted in my back gate being damaged and me coming home to a stranger breaking into my patio. I thought my home was being broken into! This was a scary scenario & when I confronted her about her failure to notify she claimed she had sent emails about the work dates,which absolutely did not happen. During our conversation about this the she showed absolutely zero remorse and offered no apology. In fact, I don't recall be treated so rudely by a building manager in my entire life. She acted as though I was a pest that she wanted out of her office. She did not discuss the issue at all with the contracting company, and I had to be the one to make the company repair and replace my gate lock. Additionally, the siding was done so poorly that my window leaked until the day I moved out. I reported this no less that 4 times. Each time I dealt with the manager she was rude, nasty. She claimed that the issue was addressed, however, cheap caulking is not a substitute for actual repairs. Finally, when I attempted to extend my lease for 6 mo (which I had done twice before) she informed me it is against policy. During this conversation, the manager was quick to tell me that "if you don't like it you are welcome to find somewhere else to live." As a final note, the building is dated and in serious need of repairs. Do your self a favor and find another location in Columbus to live.
