This has been the WORST renting experience Ive ever had, and I have been with 9 different companies. My roommate and I moved in in May 2017 and have had problems getting them to fix things ever since. In the summer it was getting the A/C fixed... took two months going back and forth with maintenance and management until they finally bought a new one. It would smell like mildew but when they fixed the smell it wouldnt be cold anymore, and vice versa. Two months this went on. Then our lights started flickering and the power would go out (this happened in the summer too but we just assumed it was due to the A/Cs running). This happened anywhere from 4 times a week to 4 times a day. We informed management and it took them 3 weeks to call an electrician. Meanwhile the maintenance guy would come over and wiggle the breaker and call it fixed and would blame Duke for the problem. Duke came out, inspected the meter, and determined the meter was fine and that was all Duke is responsible for. Turns out, it was an electrical problem. The only issue is that it took them 2 months to fix it (was literally fixed last week 1/10/18), meanwhile we suffer because theyre too cheap to get it fixed properly (out lights still flicker slightly btw). Mind you this was happening during the cold and early dark season where electricity was needed for lighting at 6pm because it was too dark out. The apartment is beautiful, but its not worth the headache and hassle of dealing with management.
