Yes I do love what I see but u need to show the closest space in the apartments. This is very important also.

NONSMOKERS BEWARE! If you are a nonsmoker, this is not the place for you. This complex is crawling with smokers, and they are allowed to smoke inside their units. The insulation between units is not good, and secondhand smoke will travel through the walls, piping, and duct work, and into your unit. The chances are very high here that you will end up sharing at least one wall with a smoker, and if that happens, you will consistently smell strong cigarette smoke in your kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, living room, and yes, sometimes even in your bedroom when you are lying in your bed at night.

Even if you try to enact measures on your own to stop the smoke from entering your unit, they will not work. Insulated electrical outlet covers and plugs do not work. Baking soda and air fresheners do not work. $300 air purifiers do not work. Fans do not work. Even opening windows and doors does not work, especially if its hot and humid outside because the smoke will stick to the warm air and sit there, even with fans blowing. Even if its cold outside, the cold air may temporarily carry away most of the smoke, but then youre freezing. Plus, as soon as you close everything up, youll only smell it again, especially if you turn the heat back on!

And finally, complaining to management does not work. Even though it is stated in the lease that you have the right to the quiet enjoyment of your unit (ie. You should be able to live there peacefully without being constantly bothered by any rude and obnoxious behavior from other residents), this apparently does not apply to being consistently blasted with secondhand smoke from a neighboring unit. If you are forced to break the lease early to escape the smoke that management refuses to do anything about, and you are basically constructively evicted and chased out of your own unit due to unlivable conditions that you had nothing to do with creating, you will be expected to pay HUGE penalties for breaking the lease.

I moved into a one bedroom apartment at the Terraces at Northridge two weeks ago. Everyone in the office is very friendly, and I was pleased to find that some of the maintenance issues I noted upon move-in were promptly fixed. This is a beautiful apartment. I love the spacious, open-style kitchen, and the large bathroom with a window (although it would be nice if you could open the window).

My only major complaint is the fact that this apartment allows its residents to smoke inside their apartments, and the smell of this smoke does in fact travel through walls and into neighboring apartments. I can sometimes smell smoke in my kitchen, laundry room, and yes, even in the bathroom. Since I am a non-smoker, this is more than just an annoyance. I didn't notice the smell until a day after I moved in, so I had, of course, already signed the lease. It was much cheaper for me to sign an 18-month lease instead of a 12-month lease, so yes, I am forced to make the best of this smoke situation for the next 18 months. I bought air fresheners and fans, and when all else fails, I open the door and let the cool outside air carry the smell away.

When I first noticed this was going to be a major problem, I cried. What makes it even worse is that the smoke smell gets trapped inside my kitchen cabinets and drawers, so I will open a drawer to get a spoon, and I am hit with a blast of cigarette smoke smell.

I am very angry about this, but I am trapped in this lease until spring of 2019. If this situation does not improve before then, I will probably be looking for another apartment.
