First and foremost, you will be paying rent for a place by The Greene. The apartment however, will be no better than an apartment in East Dayton. Within a month of moving in, I found bedbugs in my apartment. I was informed by the staff that the unit was inspected after the last tenant left and none were found. The inspector guy that came to check my unit informed me they had never been in this building. Then how was it inspected? I was told I would be charged for the extermination at $150 per weekly visit until the problem was gone. I was never billed. This tells me they were already there when I moved in. Of course not one person contacted me about replacing my two couches. My son moved in this place, giving them my info as a reference. I was SUPPOSED to get $300 off my next months rent. NEVER HAPPEND. When I inquired about it. "Well it's been quite some time and it was not noted on his lease agreement." Uh huh. Sure it wasn't. The laundry facility is dirty. Ran two loads of whites and both washers left stains on my white towels. Complained of a squirrel that entered the dryer vent to my apartment. 3 months has passed and nothing has been done. He still scurries around in the ceiling. A second complaint was made to no avail a month and a half ago. Got a $30 discounted lease when I moved in. Their enticing offer to stay? No discount. PLUS! We're gonna tack on another $30 a month. So yeah, a $60 swing with NO updates to the apartment. Oh yeah, if the building you move into has dog owners, when one starts to bark, they ALL start to bark. Stay away from this place. To top it all off, they are stuck with Greene County's terrible hard water. Make some ice cubes. When they melt, you'll see the calcium floating in your glass. And to the person that might put an automated response to this informing me of your desire to address any problems I have had, just save it for someone that cares.
My furnace had water pouring on it during winter; they told me to let it sit for a couple days and it would be good to use. They did not clean the rugs or even offer to paint the walls from all the water damage. They said they forgot to tighten a bolt on the water-tank so it was clean water amd it all ((including my damaged items) was not their problem. They did change out one fuse - it was from 1974. When my dog and I were attacked by the neighbors dog, they said there was nothing they could do - not even switch my apartment so I would be safe. The response from the office is slow with all needs; their main answer once you are signed in is not my problem. My dishwasher has never worked. If you still want to live here: take pictures of all damages before yo move in; have a paper trail of all your issues; never trust ANY verbal agreements; do not live in the basements as the ones in my building (yes all 4 apartments) have ALL had flooding issues without the office doing anything (no cleaning / no caring).
Do not move here. I never thought I'd be one to leave a lengthy negative review on any location, product etc., but this place warrants it.
Within less than a month of moving here we have lost two packages that were shipped to us. As of today, we've officially lost 3 additional packages due to theft. Stonebridge accepts -0- liability for any lost/stolen/damaged packages (even if they sign for them) and they've recently told the USPS (according to the USPS themselves) to leave packages in front of resident's doors instead of the office.
We've discovered that practically everything that could be installed improperly, has been installed improperly. Ive had to fix the deadbolt on the front door, the door handles of every other door in the house, half the drawers in the kitchen, etc.. Every room that has cheap vinyl flooring is peeling. The floor of our apartment is not level. I dont mean that its a few degrees off. I mean that the floor actually dips in certain places. The only possible explanation I can come up with for this is that the floor that was underneath the carpet was improperly removed before padding and carpet were put down. Or who knows. It should go without saying that every single fixture (lights, outlet covers, cabinets, etc) that could be painted on, has been painted on.
The only ameliorative factors of living at Stonebridge have been our ability to furnish and decorate the apartment and the maintenance staff which has been friendly and helpful in solving some of the more difficult problems. Oh, and its close to the Greene.
I will say that in the few months that we've lived here, Ive received no fewer than SIX emails from Stonebridge requesting that I refer my friends to live here. So, I guess consider this our referral.
