Welcome to your perfect college living experience. The Depot apartments are located in the heart of downtown Akron, Ohio, across the street from the University of Akron campus. Living in apartments so close to campus affords you so many luxuries. Imagine life without a daily commute. Picture inviting your friends to hang out at your apartment, your pool, your game room, your lounge. You'll find yourself wondering how you ever survived before life at The Depot at Akron.
Individual Leasing: An individual lease is a per-bed lease. You sign a lease for a bed in the apartment and share common areas with roommates. This allows you to live with roommates without having to worry about whether they're going to pay on time!
Apartment rooms at the Depot are furnished with everything you need: refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, sink, television, couches, separate bedrooms & bathrooms, washer, and dryer. The apartments are neat, decently sized, and well kept. The only downside I have experienced is the lack of contact with my neighbors at the apartment.
i love the staff
Be ready to be charged for lots of add ons to include normal use utilities that go over the allowance. Prepare to wait forever to receive any incentives you are owed for signing an early lease. Don't expect to get your room deposit back because they will nickel and dime you for every little thing. When you want to get into the parking lot with your fob, don't be surprised when the arm is broken and you can not get in. Do not be surprised when you get "nastygrams" for bills that you already paid and they say you did not.
Parents and students please read this before signing at The Depot.
There is a reason The Depot is the most affordable apartment in Akron for what you are receiving, because the depot shows you only what they want you to see. This apartment is not worth more than $400 a month let alone $600 plus. They only staff The Depot hires are people who live at The Depot so they dont have to pay them higher then minimum wage. They dont have proper staffing for the demand that is given to them. During their renewal and move in times they never have enough staff to run the entire building. The Depot treats them poorly and fire them if they don't promote a skewed view of The Depot.
They have a regular housekeeping staff that does a mediocre job because they only allow them to wipe windows and vacuum floors. They make their concierge staff do any cleaning that their house keeps dont, which is essentially everything. There has been vomit and garbage all over the place and no one picks it up for several days.
There has been strings of car break ins and they wont improve security in their garages even when they continue to happen. They used the cheapest furniture and kitchen appliances, and then when they break they charge you way more then what is valued. The best part of the poor-quality appliances is that they're going to break and The Depot will blame you for it. The restrict the number of guests your allowed to have in your apartment by limiting only one guest parking pass at a time and they are first come first serve.
The hall ways do in fact reek of marijuana during various times of the week not just the weekends. If you do for some reason feel the need to sign here make sure you read and understand the lease agreement because it states that they can charge you miscellaneous fees that are up to the discretion of the landlord. This means if they feel like charging you money for any reason, they can. I would give them zero stars if possible. DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE.
Its nice here . but I hate it. They are scammers trying to get every dollar they can out of you. Electric overages it makes no sense... They tell you that you owe like 100 extra dollars on top of your already high rent .... And can't really prove it... They will charge this to your account, not notify you and add a $5 late fee for everyday you don't pay it... Did you guys forget you are housing college kids?
