BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY ...WELL CARED FOR
I have lived at CascadeAparments for 3 years. At first, it was just "ok". The manager was responsive. If something was broken, it was usually fixed in 24-48 hours. It has really gone downhill in the past 1-2 years. The place is filthy. NEVER cleaned. Pile of dog crap in the middle of the hallway for weeks. Weeds around the building are never pulled. Snow is not plowed in a timely manner. People have to take cabs to work because we cannot get our vehicles out. It's embarrassing to have a guest over because the place is so dirty and unkempt. Our washing machine broke. It took over a week to get a new one!! No one even came out to look at it for 5 days. In addition, tenants are not properly screened. People above us are up ALL night partying, drinking, stomping. NOTHING is ever done about it, even though I have reported it SO many times. I haven't had a decent nights sleep since these particular neighbors moved in 1 year ago. I will be breaking the lease and fighting if they challenge me. The management is horrendous!
If you want something fixed quickly, forget it. If you want to walk into your building and have it smell, look, and feel nice, also forget it. The building is never taken care of the hallway carpets are disgusting, there is no air in the hallways making it smell and feel horrible. Lights are always out in the hallway. Outside of building, there are always cigarette butts since this building still allows smoking. The apartment itself is pretty spacious, but the layout is not user friendly (not enough cabinet space for pots and pans and absolutely no pantry area and there is a weird desk built into the kitchen counter, why?). The room we have faces South but forget feeling comfortable because the air conditioning unit is on the far side of apartment, no where near the bedroom, so there is no air flow. The walls and floors/ceiling are super thin so if you want quiet, look somewhere else. I constantly have problems with my neighbors below and above being loud and blasting music. Forget getting an issue with your neighbor taken care of too. I've had multiple issues with one neighbor, and it was never fully addressed, which is extremely frustrating. For the price you pay per month, there are definitely better taken care of apartments out there and property managers that actually care about the apartment and it's residents.
The apartment itself was very nice. However, I moved out almost 1 year ago and am still dealing with them trying to bill me for something I didn't do. The apartment manager, Tess, never responded to any maintenance requests while I was living there - I ended up fixing everything myself, including having to fix the blinds falling out of the wall. I shouldn't be surprised that there's still no communication on their end to try and fix this billing issue. My advice: save your check-out paperwork and record your check out session so when she says "Your apartment looks great, I'm surprised you've lived here as long as you have, it's in such good condition." and then tries to make you pay to replace the carpet, you have video evidence showing otherwise. For as many nice apartments to choose from in Fargo, I'd skip living here - it's not worth the headache.
I'm pretty pleased with this place! It took me only a few hours to schedule a meeting to look at the unit we now reside in. The 2B/2B is great. It looked small until I got all of my furniture in, and now I still have quite a bit of extra space I wasn't ready for! Bedroom, again looks small without stuff in it, but after putting our queen bed, and two bed side tables in, I have room for a computer desk and bookshelf I used to keep in my living room!
Pet deposit is cheap, affordable, and is used for 2 cats. NO additional deposit for the second cat! Plus no monthly "pet fees" which are a scam anyway.
Long story short, I'm impressed, and pleased with this apartment and I would, and have, recommend them.
The Cascades are located in a terrific location with quick access to 45th St. S. and I-29. They have beautiful textiles and appliances with 3rd floor vaulted ceilings and 1st and 2nd floor tall ceilings. Utilities include: water, sewer, garbage, heat, and hot water all paid. Each unit includes a single or double garage, washer and dryer, walk-in closets, balconies and large layouts.
