I am a current resident and my time here thus far has been decent. The apartments are beautiful inside and out but noise is a serious issue. I feel like we pay too much money to hear our above neighbors stomp around on every move they make. I guess its a design issue and the office staff doesnt do much about it. As a heads up, if you dont want to deal with noise above you every day, pay more money and try to live on the fourth floor.
My son has been a resident of this complex since early July. He moved to Winston-Salem for graduate school at Wake Forest University. When he signed the lease, the complex was not fully completed, including the lobby, fitness, and kitchen areas. So far, his experience has been positive (i.e., beautiful apartment and complex with nice amenities in a great location). But there is one MAJOR drawback: the loud, piped in music 10-12 hours a day. My son is a musician and loves music, but not when he's trying to study. I can imagine the impact is even worse for tenants who are doctors and nurses working the night shift who therefore need to sleep during the day. My son has resorted to locking himself in the bathroom or walk-in closet to buffer the noise when he's doing course work...to no avail. He's even worn noise-canceling head phones. The point is: He shouldn't have to do this...not when he's paying nearly $1400/month in rent. The music radiates throughout the pool and courtyard areas and is played constantly even though there's generally no one at the pool during the week. He has contacted property management about this because he has final exams coming up. They have not responded. This is unfortunate. When he signed the lease, he had no way of knowing that loud music would be playing 10-12 hours a day every day. It would be O.K. if there was only music on weekend afternoons at the pool. As a parent, I'm not sure if management is trying to create a certain "vibe" that they hope will attract renters? If anything, this would be a deterrent. It certainly would have been for my son had he known beforehand. Apparently, it's already been an issue for others as well. When I visited, a potential renter who was moving to Winston-Salem for graduate school began a conversation with me in the lobby. She had begun to fill out an application until she asked about the music and whether it was every day. I told her "yes." She said this would not work for her at all.
