This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. Trash dumpsters overflowing every week. This has been an issue at this complex for at least a year. Wet laundry left on washing machines on a regular basis also.
Our apartment was disgusting when we moved in to it. The air unit was broken and we were without air for weeks. Finally, the manger got a window unit for the living room but our bedrooms were hot. Each tenant got an overage electric bill for months of $120+ a month for our small apartment. Every time we called for help, we got the same exact generic message.
On August 17th, my son was suppose to have been moving in his new apartment at CEV Wilmington. Due to lack of organization on their part and following up on the signed lease that didnt happen. Once we got all of that settled, with NO help from the manager, he was finally able to pick up his key. The following weekend we rented a uhaul truck to take his furniture from our house to his new apartment. We all unloaded the truck and started to unpack when His picked up the Router box in his bedroom and out came a ton of cockroaches. so we then looked in the dishwasher, stove, refrigerator and his bathroom and found more. I immediately contacted the on call maintenance to have them come out to see the infestation and exterminate or spray. (Which I do not believe will get rid of them as Monday as there is. No one ever contacted me back letting me know that someone had been out there or was planning on going out there. And because of how nasty it is Alex does not want to stay there and who can blame him. I then called two more times after that as well as spoke with someone at the front desk in regards to how nasty his apartment is and how bad it is infested with cockroaches. All the while neither the manager or the property manager of pinnacle student living will return my phone calls or talk with either Alex or I. So Alex typed up a letter demanding termination of lease and we have still yet to get a response and they have still yet to do anything. He went again today to check to see if they were still cockroaches all over and there was and he also went to show the video to the manager who was not in conveniently. why would anyone allow their housing to be this nasty? If anyone has any ideas as to what we can do or who to call please let me know. And share this post to get the word out!
By far the worst experience for my daughter and myself for move in. Apartments shown on walk through are nothing like what you get placed into. The rooms shown are new furniture, appliances, nice flooring and paint. You move in and is smells rancid, not clean, furnished room has furniture that is nasty and covered in dings and scratches. Why do we pay for furnishing that are not worth the price paid? CEV provide Cable, WiFi and internet, yeah right. My daughter has gone back and forth with the CEV management to resolve issues and gets nothing but poor customer service, deferred to third party just to be turned right back around to CEV not doing what they are supposed to in order to have service rendered. They did not document the renter in the correct room so prevents cable, internet service activation. The internet/cable companies don't have any information for the tenants from CEV management so 2 weeks without internet for a college student is ridiculous. The management needs to be replaced, purely rude and don't give a crap. Basically told I don't have time for you or your issues. Do it yourself! DO NOT RENT CEV!
The 2 years I spent here were absolutely miserable with too many problems to list, and I wasn't even around to see the disgusting and unacceptable way the complex "handled" the recent hurricane. Just check out what people are saying on CEV's Facebook page; if that many people are mentioning the same complaints it's pretty clear who is in the wrong. Issues I experienced included, but were certainly not limited to: infestations of fleas and cockroaches, receiving calls from a collection agency after moving out for exorbitant move out fees (it costs several hundred to paint a clean, well kept apt?) which CEV never bothered to let us know about despite having our forwarding info, incredibly unprofessional and unhelpful management, going 2 months without internet (including during finals), terrible neighbors whom CEV refused to do anything about, and so much more. Please avoid.
CEV Wilmington was created with you in mind! With our resort style pool, covered cabanas, resident bike center, fitness center, and coffee machine; youll never go a day without getting what you need from a place you love!
