lived at The Landings for 20 months. Moved out only because my husband and I were fortunate enough to buy a house. I'm not a huge fan of writing reviews because it's usually a place to vent your frustrations. That being said-

PROS- The Landings is completely affordable living in the Lake Norman area. The complex is mostly quiet with lots of families and I had great neighbors that were never anything but cordial. The maintenance people did respond promptly to requests for maintenance. The location to the green way and the shops at Birkdale Village is AWESOME! I loved the quiet back corner that it sits on... not much traffic through as it is on a dead end road!

CONS- The management, whenever you have a problem or question, can be very rude and condescending. We had a package stolen from our doorstep and when we talked to the office about it they said that they are unable to hold packages for residents (when many other apartment complexes I have lived in do hold packages). They are not gracious when dealing with maintenance. During my stay, a man walked up to my door, knocked, and asked me to give him money for a hotel. The amenities for the complex are very limited, the biggest problem being that the apartment homes are dated and there doesn't seem to be a plan to replace things. They do repair, but never replace as that would "cost too much." The pet fees you pay do not apply to any damages. They basically pocket that money and you are left with a bill to pay after paying $1000 in pet fees and rent. At move out, they nickle and dime you.
