I really enjoy living here and wish I would have moved in sooner. The workers are very nice and I have never had a problem. I love where I live, it's nice and quite and the rent is reasonable :)
When you walk into the clubhouse, which is great, and talk to the staff you are given the impression that the apartments are really nice. They show you a model apartment, that looks great. My cousin lived here when it was still campus crossing, so I expected great things.
However, upon moving in, my Roomate and I found various holes in the walls. My bathroom smelled like cigarettes and there were ashes in my tub, and the floor was dirty. There was mold when we moved in. Someone fixed it, only for us to find it much worse a week later. Our drier takes 3 or 4 rounds, before the clothes are completely dry. Utilities are split between my roommate and I. We were told that the average electric bill would be about $20-$70. The insulation around the windows and doors are awful. I can almost see clean outside from the cracks around our front door. As a result, since fall our power bills have been near, or over, $100 per roommate. This is without use of the dishwasher and rare use of the oven. I would not recommend Sherwood Forest if your not prepared to spend $100 over your rent every month. The staff will not be sympathetic. The WiFi is not always reliable. We never go long without hearing gunshots outside. The once very nice clubhouse, has been empty of all of the equipment in the gym for months, for renovations. I could go on, but we would be here for hours. I dont know anyone who plans on renewing their lease here, and they would be crazy to.
I lived at Sherwood Forest for the past year and have had a very good experience. My roommates are great and we use the pool and fitness center a lot. Maintenance requests are handled quickly. They just changed management but it has been very smooth and the new folks are great.
Location of building was in a bad area, and the boss lady can be very rude when trying to work with her.
It's a great place to live defiantly if your going to UNCG, but I'm working and this place is magnificent as long as u don't mind having a roommate. It's the cheapest place to live if your by your self and have no friends looking for an apartment, but if you have roommates already I would recommend another place cause it would be much cheaper. My situation though it was the cheapest way to go.
