The District is a wonderful community where the students are the center focus of the staff. They ensure that the environment is one that encourages learning and being prepared for the future. The staff is extremely nice, caring and understanding. They are always trying to do what is best for you. They host a series of events to show the appreciation of the students including Taco Tuesday and Thanksgiving dinner. There are many things that they do that are too numerous to mention.

Thank you so much for the great review! We are glad that you enjoy the resident functions. We also work very hard to provide an environment that is safe and encourages learning. Please let us know if you need anything.

Not bad, it is cheap and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. For an older refurbished hotel it is comfortable and the walls between rooms are solid so no noise unless you sit out in the hall.
Student only apartment so some residents need mommy and daddy guidance on behavior issues but what can you expect . They are still renovating and many improvements have been made!

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is horrible. Terrible property despite renovation attempts, fake staff who lie to you constantly, and absolutely nonexistent corporate owners who ignore you completely, that is when they arent also lying to you. I think maybe the worst part, aside from the central water that get scalding hot roughly 5 times per shower and the trash covered building and parking lot, is the fact that the building has central heat and therefore you do not have AC whatsoever October-May. I had 3 weeks straight of my unit being over 80 degrees and everyone just kept saying thats just the way it is. And almost every amenity listed doesnt work or is closed more often than not. Do not live here.

I'm looking for an apartment. Cheaper the better

Generally, you get what you pay for, however the District would be an exception to the rule. The distance to UNCG is good, but there are cheaper options closer to campus, and those come with kitchens that you might actually cook in. The cooking suite on the ground floor is a joke, three dirty ranges and a single sink in a cramped, dirty room. The rooms are fine, exactly what they look like, except older, less well maintained, and noisier than you could hope for. The entertainment room on the ground floor may never have actually been used, pool table with one broken stick, a "bar" with no seats, no refrigerator, and no working sink... you get the picture. Very poor thermostat control in the rooms (at least mine, maybe I just got lucky), difficult to maintain a temperature, tends to get really hot. Live here if you must, but don't expect to enjoy it.
