I have lived here for 15 years. Management and the maintenance crew have always been professional and courteous, quickly resolving issues that come up.
We didn't have a lot of time to research an apartment in Charlotte after a job offer brought us here from Chapel Hill. After we had signed the lease,we read some unflattering reviews online and got really worried. Happily, NONE of the things in the complaints turned out to be true. The staff and office girls have been 100% helpful and pleasant; the maintenance guys are competent, friendly and have fixed whatever small issue we have had. Neighbors have been quiet and no problem at all!
The pools are nice but you can't use them. They failed to maintain them properly so both the pools are closed indefinitely. Want to use the laundry room, you can't. There were homeless people living in the laundry facilities so they padlocked the door. The hedges haven't been trimmed this year, so it looks like a jungle. They're supposed to power wash the common areas but they don't, the trashy tenants that leave their garbage in front of their door have stained the walkways with their leaky trash. When they do manage to take the trash to the dumpster they can't seem to actually put it in the dumpster, instead they dump it on top, in front of and all around the dumpster. It will sit there for days, sometimes weeks before anybody picks it up, if they even pick it up. My AC goes out every 2 months because it leaks, so we try to time it and get the work request in before it fails, but I'm still paying higher energy costs because they won't actually fix it. The gym equipment is old and not worth using. Every year they jack up the price, but you don't really get anything for the extra money.
t's pretty sad that they don't do anything to maintain these apartments, it's getting worse every year. I'm skeptical of the reviews that say this is a "great place" because everyone I've talked to has the same issues. Who wants to live in a trashy neighborhood? If the management wasn't inept we would have a pool to use, but just about every year there is some problem and it's not opened for the season, or gets closed down during the season. New management is needed to make a difference. They should use the money they charge us to actually fix something, like the AC units, the pool, etc.
And, if you move in, they will tell you there are new carpets, paint etc but they lie about it. Do a careful walk through, because if they don't fix it before you move in, it's never going to be fixed.
The complex has regressed in the last two years! Maintenance of the buildings, grounds and especially the trash collection points have almost become none existent. Old furniture and home appliances are just dumped at will and take a long time to be disposed of, off the premises. Landscaping has deteriorated badly - grass has almost been destroyed, hedges are not trimmed regularly as before and leaves are just left scattered all around. Roads remain dirty and trash is scattered in the parkingarea
worst apartment complex i have ever lived in!
