I have been a resident for a little over two years now and absolutely love it. Yes, the construction can be a bit annoying at times, but staff is very good at sending out communication if there is a road that will be closed, etc.
Being someone that works from home, I LOVE being able to go to the amenities building if I need a break from my apartment. There's free coffee and Domanique and the rest of the concierge service always have a treat for my dog. Speaking of which, who else allows dogs in their amenities building?! This can be a great ice breaker to meet fellow residents.
I was surprised to read other reviews of staff being inconsistent or acting "better than residents". This has certainly not been the case for me. Having held many service industry jobs in the past, my best advice is to great the staff like people, rather than with an immediate complaint or expectation.
Bottom line - there are a lot of luxury apartment complexes popping up around Charlotte and Plaza Midwood. If you want to be able to walk to things but also feel like you are in a neighborhood, this is the place!
Our wife and I had a great 2 years here. Amenities were great, and staff was always friendly and helpful. Only downside was all the construction but thats understandable.
Ive been living in the village at commonwealth for a little less than a year. I love living here. Its very quiet, The amenities are great , and theyre always having some type of function with food. I absolutely love the leasing staff (including the 24 concierge service). Ive recommended people here before. Great place.
I love everything about my apartment, the area, and the amenities but unfortunately this property is not managed very well. Rules and policies seem to only be enforced when it's convenient for the Leasing team and seem to change arbitrarily based on current mood. The Leasing team is inconsistent as well when it comes to customer service. On many occasions you feel like your question or concern is a nuisance to them and they'd rather not be bothered.
While the amenities at this apartment complex are alluring, as a potential resident, there were too many detracting factors for this to become a serious consideration in my apartment hunt.
The service provided by the leasing office was consistently poor and rude. Not only do they make every step of signing a lease a conplete headache, but then as a resident there is a consistently haughty attitude that gives the impression that employees of the community are allowed to run roughshod over residents. The final straw was observing how poorly enforced community rules are and the inconsistent logic that the employees claim to adhere to in enforcing those rules.
When it comes down to it, how often are you going to use a communal hot tub versus how often will you have to interact with staff that believes they are better than you?
