Excellent apartment community. Quiet, well kept, and a wonderful location in Charlotte. Close to uptown and walking distance to many places including Freedom Park.

The staff are amazing and incredibly helpful. Marsh Properties is prompt to respond to any issues. They properties are well kept, especially when you consider the age of them.

Salem Village is a beautiful and pleasant place to stay. The leasing office staffs and handymen are all very kind. The community is well-maintained. From my point of view, Salem Village distinguishes itself from other rental properties by at least two merits: First, a little river passes through this community and attracts abundant wild animals (deers, rabbits, birds, and I even saw a box turtle once). Second, the wide spaces between buildings gave me more room to breath. Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to enjoy a little piece of wildness in the city.

I live at Salem Village Apartments - There is a city sewage project happening 20 feet below my apartment, machinery running 24 hours a day. The city has informed me that Marsh was WELL AWARE of the disruptions to residents and decided to ignore it, not communicate it at all! I was enticed to rent a More expensive unit than I was originally looking at that backed up to a creek with tons of trees. That lasted all of a month, the city came in & tore 80% of them down. For the last 6 weeks there has been underground blasting all hours of the day - which is digging holes in the ground and throwing dynamite in the holes! Earthquakes every single day - fog horns, the loudest machinery, cheap uninsulated windows & doors & this is just SOME of my concerns! And in the midst of all of this, THEY INCREASED MY RENT! In the last 8 months I lived here construction has been going on for 7 - they were fully aware of this project and didnt bother to inform me prior to me signing a lease. 3 weeks into moving in, the plumbing system completely backed up and they had plumbers in my house for 3 days with feces all over my floors, just for ME TO CLEAN IT UP, and sent me a letter scolding ME for flushing baby wipes - - - I had only lived here 3 weeks. Then over the next 7 months they had someone coming in the maintainer of some sort, checking carbon monoxide, changing air filters - just for me to look on the backside of the AC unit a month ago TO SEE BLACK MOLD GROWING! The maintenance comes out to look and tells me You shouldve called as soon as you saw it Once again, I shouldve gone looking for black mold when they have people coming in to do preventative maintenance. This company is an absolute joke - and on top of it all, I was at the pool with my daughter listening to music to drown out the construction noise & the leasing company CALLED THE POLICE TO FILE A NOISE COMPLAINT ON ME.
