MAA City Grand

I choose this rental based on the pricing and location. I have lived here for a couple years and am finally about to live out my lease. The location is prime, but being in a prime spot opens the tenants to a lot of turmoil. My car was broken into 3 times, it was involved in a hit and run, there was 2 reported shooting on the property, my mailbox was ripped open once and another time I witnessed the thief attempting to rip open other mailboxes, porch pirates had stolen more than 5 packages, my apartment closet was covered in mold and took the contractors a week to repair and no alternative living was provided, the ventilation in the shower was not sufficient even with the fan on and doors open, the car care center worked maybe 5% of the time, the trash compactor is constantly overflowing or inaccessible, the stench of marijuana in the area seems irreparable. They recently installed SmartHome locks which is convenient, but it also open the opportunity for vendors to access your apartment at their discretion (the vendor that visited today left every light on and the door wide open.) If you plan to live here, open your mind to the endless amounts of strain it will put you in. As I finally found steps to move out, I was unable to fill my space with a sublet tenant as it goes against the leases policy and was left to pay the remainder of the leases term. As I attempt to eagerly escape what I would consider one of the most unsafe and surface hiding properties in the Charlotte node, be wary of jumping in just because the price and location is right.

The women at the front desk Julia is clearly inexperienced and lacks the ability to admit when shes wrong. She rushed my move in date and the apartment nor the appliances where what she showed in the viewing. The Lead maintenance guy doesnt know how to open a toolbox box, by the looks of things he cant use measuring tape either. There are multiple things still wrong around here, the dumpster has been broke since the day I moved in, they wont give the number to corporate so people can report the horrible job theyve been doing. Im looking for a new place already and it been only 3 months.

My rent went up $100 after my first year. And I am paying $70 per mth for Spectrum that I do not use.
