Our family member leased the only available 2-bedroom apartment. They were not happy with the location, and three different representatives of Camden South End told us that when a more suitable 2-bedroom became available, they could move into that one. When more 2-bedrooms became available, we inquired about moving, we were told they would incur a fee of almost $1,800 to move and would have to wait 90 days before they could even make such a request. None of the three representatives mentioned this during the initial 30-day period of living there (when they had the opportunity to break the lease at no cost) despite us having communicated with them at length on multiple occasions. While we expected there would be some fee involved for moving apartments, for example the cost of cleaning the one they were moving out of, $1,800 is insane. I definitely would not recommend leasing from Camden.

I'm not generally one to leave reviews but in this case it was completely necessary. The only positive thing about living at Camden South End was the location. Calling this a luxury complex is an absolute joke. Parking is atrocious, the building itself is old and the elevators are beyond sketchy and rarely cleaned. They claim the pool is open April- October yet management failed to get it inspected in time to be open in April two years in a row. As for common areas, the grills by the pool were broken the entire time I lived there, the gym is ridiculously tiny and lackluster, and the printer which is necessary for printing guest passes (also extremely inconvenient) is often broken/without paper. The icing on the cake is that they will bill you for everything humanly possible. After paying a pet deposit and monthly pet rent, they are now trying to make me pay out of pocket to replace carpets that were never damaged by my pet in the first place. I have never regretted signing a lease somewhere more in my life- learn from my mistake and look elsewhere!
