Catawba Valley Community College, NC

Catawba College, founded in Newton, North Carolina, in 1851, now makes its home in the vibrant city of Salisbury, where a pervasive appreciation for the arts sets the tone for the community and for student living. As part of the Salisbury community since 1925, Catawba is entrenched in local events and festivals, and even offers off campus housing in the community.

Affiliated with the United Church of Christ, the college “draws strength from Judeo-Christian values, sustains a dynamic community of leaders and seeks to unite a diverse population of students, faculty and staff as active co-participants in scholarship and service,” says the Catawba College mission statement.
