They will scam you and try to charge you money you dont owe. Very loud and noisy. Trash and dog poop everywhere. I cant even tell you how many people I saw fixing flat tires there due to broken glass in the parking lots/ road. Worst part of living there was randomly not having access to water sometimes for extended periods of time.
Management is very rude. We have something break at least once a month and maintenece takes weeks to come fix it. Our water is constantly out and they decided to cut it off for the weekend nights to "conserve." They try to fine you for anything and have charged people fines for damages after moving out that were false. I am not resigning my lease and I make sure to tell everyone this place is not worth it.
Great place, really fun events and the rooms are really big!
Ive lived here 2 years. Never again. Our fire alarms go off constantly to the point that we have to rip them out of the walls. And we have called for a replacement x6 times at this point & still dont have proper working fire alarms...
Furthermore, weve had no running water x7-8 in my less than 2 years of living here, ranging from half a day to over 96 hours without any running water. $600+ for 5 people to share one tiny fridge??? THIS PLACE IS SO NOT WORTH THE $$$ AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Busses run late, management doesnt care for its residents. The staff itself consists of students, & theyre all kind people, but the management needs work. Old management used to do resident appreciation week, & provide free meals every once in a while. Nowadays, every other month its something lame like pretzels & puzzles. Poor roommate matching. Last year, the 4 roommates including myself went to court to file a restraining order against the 5th roommate we were matched with... if that says something. Just live somewhere else. The only perk is the parking. Disappointed in my experience here to say the least.
The Cottages is poorly ran. As a house you will pay atleast 2,000 dollars to have everything fall apart around you. There are gaps under and around doors, constant leaks, broken outlets, and just thrown up houses. The "amenities" you pay for are often broken such as hot tub, washer dryer, most of the treadmills in the gym, drink machines, and many more (those are just a few I've experienced first hand). Not only are they broken but they stay broken for months and the staff in the office will claim things will be fixed soon. If your parents are paying your rent you may not care about this stuff but as someone who is personally working for 600 a month and handing it to the cottages It is frustrating. My unit hasn't had a working washer and dryer for over a month and during the process management has lied to my face and still failed to fix the problem. The broken washer and dryer was addressed, just by me, four times before it was even looked at. Old management I believe would have handled the problem much quicker and with more compassion. All and all new management seems to be a joke. While the views are beautiful and the community is nice there are better places to live for the money.
