The State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry is the single school of optometry in New York State. Located in midtown Manhattan, the SUNY College of Optometry was founded in 1971 by the New York State legislature and is a member of the SUNY Eye Institute. Among the college's programs are the Doctor of Optometry, Master of Science in vision science and the Doctor of Philosophy in vision science. The intimate program enrolls only about 75 students per year.
