SUNY College Oswego, NY

The State University of New York at Oswego began in 1861 as the Oswego Primary Teachers' Training School. Today's campus was opened in 1913, and the school became the Oswego State Teachers College in 1942. It was incorporated into the SUNY system in 1948 and broadened its academic spectrum.

The 700-acre campus next to Lake Ontario is made up of 46 buildings with plenty of classroom, recreational, residential and laboratory facilities. With more than 100 undergraduate and graduate programs, there are plenty of areas to explore during your educational career.

Oswego, New York is known as the Port City and has a rich history. Battles during the French and Indian War and the War of 1812 took place in the harbor, and Fort Ontario is on the eastern edge of the city. Oswego became a hub of cultural activity in the 20th century and is the trophy fishing capital of the Northeast.
