SUNY College Cortland, NY

The State University of New York at Cortland was established in 1868 as the Cortland Normal School. The original campus in downtown Cortland was destroyed by a fire in 1919, but the present 191-acre campus atop a rolling hill in town was opened in 1923.

With 61 undergraduate majors and 33 graduate majors, there's an endless number of areas to explore. The college is made up of three different schools: the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Education and the School of Professional Studies. With more than 7,000 students, there's never a shortage of people to meet.

Half of the students at SUNY - Cortland live in university housing, but those looking into off campus living have plenty of options.
