The Woodlands Of Latham

This is a well maintained property. I appreciate having other people of color in the complex, and the property manager, Christine, was very welcoming to me and my husband. The apartment is so nice and we feel very safe here. I would highly recommend The Woodlands.

I truly wanted to love this place, I couldnt so many bag experiences. Positives 1. The grounds are kept clean 2. Maintenance is friendly and do the best they can within their means. 3. Plenty of parking Negatives: 1. Mouse issue: I caught several. Response was limited. My apartment is VERY clean, I had to leave my utensils in the dishwasher and all food out of reach. It took a year to resolve. 2. They choose whos worthy of new appliances. I received a n old refrigerator loaded with mouse droppings. A tenant moved in after, took an apartment that wasnt rented a full year and received new appliances. 3. My door number wasnt visible the door paint chipping and stripping broken. My packages delivered to the wrong address. When I asked I was told to put in a work order, I did and nothing, however they painted doors for tenants moving in after me and gave them new numbers. 4. During Covid I got a noise complaint one email and a few days later a letter with eviction terminology. The landlord sided with her long term tenants immediately she asked if she could speak to my children. II was justifying my parenting by saying wait my oldest child is a doctor, behavior is so important. I stayed at my moms house to avoid complaints as the kids adjusted to covid all while still paying my rent on time. 4. They come into your apartment if they want things done on their time frame even when its non emergency. 5. Inside is outdated. 6. Air conditioning outside was sparking with fire ! Because of the way things are patched and half fixed this is SCARY! kindness diminishes after you move in, they seem bothered. I think it certainly has potential with new non bias management. I understand the high turnover and get the two months free rent offer for longer leases. Ive been with this company 3 years after I sold my home. I only stayed because of the locked in lease and I never wanted to rent again after this experience so I started a house search.

The Pros: The neighborhood is quiet. The location is spectacular. The property is well maintained. The front office people are amazing. The Cons: Design: It is overdue for an upgrade. For example: SS appliances, built in microwave; better countertops (not formica), or better carpet or wood floors. There is a wall between the LR and Kitchen that, if replaced with an island/bar/sink combo, would give the place a modern/open look. The Trash Compactor - this property has challenges with working properly. The pool - THe pool is only opened a few weeks, but there were several times during the season that it could not be used due to life-guards or maintenance issues. Pets: There are no dogs allowed on this property at all. For me, it is a HUGE drawback that even small dogs are not allowed. It is on of the reasons that we will move within the next year. We would stay here for 5 years if they allowed for small dogs.

Overall, a great place to live.

OFALL THE APARTMENT COMMUNITIES I LIKE THE WOODLANDS, YOUR FLOOR PLANS ARE COMFORTABLE AND THE AMENITIES SATISFACTORY. I AM FERVENTLY HOPING TO BE A RESIDENT SOMETIME THIS YEAR.
