Here are some of the fees you will be responsible for at Twin Lakes: Pet deposit $350 (non-refundable) Renter's insurance $20-$50 monthly (varies greatly, they mandate in the lease terms that you maintain a policy worth $300,000) Remarketing fee $275 (due at lease sign in) Turn over fee $125 (due when you move out) Carpet cleaning fee $100 (non-negotiable and due when you move out) Pet rent $35 monthly (per pet) Garage rent $40 monthly (per car space) Water & Sewage $56.13 monthly (fixed price for all units) Convenience fee $10 (anytime you make a payment online) Amenity fee $75 yearly Garbage removal $10 monthly Laundry; $2.45 per wash load $1.95 per dryer load (If your unit has hookups you can also rent machines from them directly for a monthly fee) In addition, you'll be paying NYSEG and National Grid for your gas and electricity separately. If you think all your hard earned cash will at least get you a nice place with great maintenance, think again; the maintenance team is severely and perpetually understaffed. They completely ignore work orders and will only respond to emergency problems and even then only when called on repeatedly. The leasing agents are only helpful while chasing their commission checks, and turn into ghosts at best and compulsive liars at worst once you've signed your lease. The walls are paper thin, the snow and ice is never removed in a timely manner, the appliances are refurbished and bottom-barrel, the water comes out cloudy from the pipes, they can't guarantee you a parking space and indeed they often run out, and they don't follow up with or enforce noise or ordor concerns you may have with your neighbors.
