The Institute of Textile Technology (ITT) was founded in 1944 by textile industry leaders who wanted to work together to develop a training facility that could provide education and academic research to those interested in entering the textile industry. Together with North Carolina State University (NCSU), the ITT/NCSU Textile and Material Research Consortium offers students in Raleigh the most advanced textile research opportunities in the world.
